Mixers for premixes and compound animal feed
The problem
A feed ration is made of components with very different densities — ground cereals, meals, bran — which in a weak mixer separate instead of blending. What comes out of the machine then depends on where in the batch it came from.
The harder requirement is the premix: a vitamin-mineral additive dosed in small quantity has to reach the whole ration evenly. If it does not, some animals are under-dosed and others over-dosed, and neither shows up until much later.
What we deliver
A double helical spiral working in counter-flow, so the whole mass circulates rather than just the top layer.
A ploughshare mixer where the additive dosage is below 1 % of the batch and mechanical fluidisation is needed to distribute it.
Spray nozzles for molasses and vegetable fats, introduced over the dry phase during mixing so they do not form lumps.
Load-cell weighing with a report for every ration, when the feed recipe has to be documented.
A tractor power take-off drive for working points without an adequate electrical supply.

The same principle of even distribution at very low dosages is what we supplied to Knauf, in a different industry: a ploughshare mixer for construction materials, where an additive under 1 % of the batch mass decides how the product behaves on site.
