Dosing systems — gravimetric and volumetric dosing and big bag stations, built to order in the EU

Dosing systems introduce exact quantities of powders and granulate into the process, either by weighing on load cells or volumetrically, with an extraction screw. They are used by mixing, packing and processing lines in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. We design and build them in our own plants in Tomești (Iași, Romania) and Bălți (Moldova).

When a dosing system is the right choice

The situations where dosing is the correct answer — and the one where we recommend a different machine of ours.

  • The recipe demands exact quantities, and a deviation means a rejected lot or wasted raw material.

  • You need traceability: the system issues a weighing report for every batch, with the recipe used.

  • The density of the raw material varies from lot to lot — with gravimetric dosing that does not matter, because mass is weighed rather than volume.

  • You receive raw material in big bags and you want the powder to enter the process in a closed circuit, with no dust in the hall.

When this is NOT the right machine

If you only need to move material from one point to another, without a guaranteed quantity, the weighing and the control system are costs you will not use.

Frequently asked questions about dosing

Gravimetric or volumetric — which do I need?

Gravimetric means the hopper sits on load cells and mass is weighed, so the accuracy stays the same even if the density of the raw material varies from lot to lot. Volumetric means only a speed-controlled screw: cheaper, but any variation in density translates directly into a quantity deviation. If the raw material is consistent, volumetric is sufficient.

What dosing accuracy does it reach?

The accuracy comes from two-stage dosing — high rate until close to target, then fine rate — plus automatic correction for the material in flight at the moment of stopping.

Our material bridges in the hopper — will dosing stop?

That is what a hopper vibrator or agitator is for: it releases the material and keeps it flowing to the screw. The choice between the two depends on how sticky the material is — tell us what you are dosing.

Will it connect to our existing line automation?

Yes, the control system stores the recipes and communicates directly with the mixing or packing line automation.

What report do I get for each batch?

The system issues a weighing report for every batch, with the recipe used.

Do you deliver and install across Europe?

Yes. The Tomești plant is in Romania, inside the EU single market, so deliveries within the Union involve no customs and no import duty.

What is the lead time?

We normally send the technical proposal and the price within 48 hours of receiving your process description.
