In a residential courtyard

The stainless BikeBox 2 where it is designed to sit: on paving, against a planted edge, at the height of a garden wall. The point of the proportions is that a bike rolls straight in from the paving — no ramp, no lifting over a threshold, which is what decides whether an e-bike actually gets put away every evening.

In rain, after dark

The black version in the condition that matters. Water runs off the inclined roof rather than pooling on it, the doors overlap the body, and the ventilation openings sit high under the roof overhang so air moves through without driving rain getting in. A sealed box with no ventilation traps condensation, which corrodes a drivetrain faster than rain does.

Powder-coated black — front

Both doors closed. The horizontal slots across the doors are the ventilation pattern; the engraved ALTEBO mark and the cylinder lock sit on the right-hand door. The open band under the roof runs the full width and is the primary air path.

Powder-coated black — three-quarter

The same unit turned, so the depth reads properly: 1300 mm, enough for a full-size adult bicycle across. The side panel is a single unbroken sheet, and the roof is pitched front-to-back.

AISI 304 stainless — front

The same construction in brushed stainless. Specified where the box faces coastal air, road salt or heavy public use — and where it has to still look new in ten years rather than merely intact.

Hinges are external and the panels carry no visible fixings. On a product that lives outdoors, every exposed fastener is a place where water sits and coating fails.

How it ships

Flat-pack, ALTEBO-branded, assembled on site to the supplied instructions. A finished box of this size is mostly air, and shipping air across Europe costs more than the steel inside it.

Three-bay system, food processing plant

The line-up in service, controlling the equipment visible beside it. Note what is on the doors and what is not: selector switches and status lamps per drive on the left bay, drive keypads and instruments in the centre, emergency stop and main isolator on the right — all reachable without opening anything. Everything else is inside.

Local panel, bottling line

A compact panel mounted on the machine frame rather than across the room. On a bottling line the operator needs the control at the point of the fault, not at a central cabinet thirty metres away. The inclined top is what keeps wash-down water off the door seal.

Multi-bay factory control system

The same class of system photographed in the workshop before dispatch. Lifting eyes on top for placement by crane; the plinth keeps the base clear of the floor. Grouping indication per drive is what makes a line-up like this usable at three in the morning by someone who did not commission it.

Double-door panel

Width rather than height. A tall narrow cabinet holds the same components and is much worse to work on — stacked components mean wiring crosses zones and terminals end up above head height. Width lets each function sit in its own area with its own terminals.

Floor-standing single-door panel

Adjustable feet, not a plinth. They keep the base clear of a floor that gets hosed down and let the cabinet be levelled on a surface that is never as flat as the drawing assumed.

Compact wall-mounted panel

The smallest thing in the range, built to the same standard as the largest. Inclined top, keyed latch, stainless throughout — for a single drive, a local start/stop station or an instrument enclosure that has to match the equipment around it.
