When to choose it

The concrete situations where this machine is the right answer — and the one where we recommend something else from our range.

  • You process plastics and the raw material absorbs moisture — wet granulate produces visible defects in extrusion and injection moulding.

  • You blend virgin material with regrind and masterbatch and need the proportion to stay constant throughout the batch.

  • You have little room beside the extruder or the injection press: the vertical construction occupies far less floor area than a horizontal mixer of the same capacity.

  • You want to move the machine between presses — it is supplied in a mobile version, on a wheeled frame.

When this is NOT the right machine

If the material is not plastic granulate and does not need drying, you are paying for a hot-air system you will not use.

How it works

The vertical mixer with a drying system prepares plastic granulate and regrind ahead of extrusion or injection moulding: it removes absorbed moisture and homogenises batches of raw material with masterbatch and regrind additions.

The central vertical screw picks material up from the base of the cylindro-conical body and lifts it to the top, from where it falls by gravity along the walls — a continuous recirculation that mixes the entire batch. At the same time, thermostatically controlled hot air passes through the material bed and carries the moisture away, with the temperature set for the polymer being processed.

The vertical construction takes up a minimal floor area, and the conical discharge ensures the batch empties completely. The build includes an inspection port, a safety thermostat and its own control panel; on request, the machine is supplied in a mobile version, on a wheeled frame.

Recirculation by vertical screw

The whole batch passes continuously through the central mixing column.

Thermostatic hot-air drying

Temperature set for the polymer type, with a safety thermostat.

Minimal floor footprint

Vertical construction — fits beside the extruder or the injection press.

Complete emptying

Cylindro-conical body with full batch discharge, leaving no residue.

Variante constructive

What actually differs between them — not just what they are called.

Fixed, on legs

The standard version, installed beside the processing line.

Mobile, on a wheeled frame

Moved between presses or extruders by a single operator — useful in halls with several machines and different recipes.

Without the drying system

Vertical screw recirculation only, for homogenising batches of granulate that do not absorb moisture.

Frequently asked questions

Question not answered here? Write to us — an engineer replies, nu un robot.

At what temperature does it dry, and who sets it?

The adjustable range is in the specification table. The temperature is chosen for the polymer being processed and is set from the machine's own panel; a safety thermostat cuts the heating if it is exceeded.

What residual moisture does it reach, and how long does it take?

See the “Residual moisture reached” row in the specification table. The time depends on the polymer, the initial moisture and the batch size.

How much floor space does it need?

The dimensions are in the specification table, in the “Floor footprint” row. The advantage of the vertical construction is exactly that reduced footprint — but also check the available headroom, including the space above for charging.

Does it empty completely between batches?

Yes — the body is cylindro-conical with a discharge cone at the bottom, so no material is left in corners. That matters when you change colour or material type.

Can it handle regrind, not just granulate?

Yes, the vertical screw conveys regrind as well.

Can it be connected to automatic press feeding?

Yes.
